Could not find the original post to necropost, but here is a new vid of the same guy racking the slide of multiple guns.

I've tried it with my Glock 17 unloaded, and it goes back enough for the trigger to work...but with a loaded mag, I can't get a round in the chamber... God gave the rest of us 2 hands for a reason I guess//

Well, clearly it can be done. I had some doubts when I saw the original video. Like many things, it looks easier to do than it really is. (Yes, I did try it [laugh]) I can see how it would be a benefit in competition. I also thought it might be a benefit if your weak hand was injured and you needed to load a round, but on further thinking, that situation would only occur if you were carrying with an empty chamber.

I've come away with two conclusions: 1) If you're carrying a semi, carry with one up the spout; and 2) It's a lot easier to "snap" the cylinder of a revolver closed than to use inertia to rack a slide. [wink]

NOTE TO NEWBIES: Do not, ever, close the cylinder on a revolver by "snapping" it shut with one hand. It may look cool in the movies, but it can damage the gun and if it's somebody else's revolver the owner might snap...on you. [grin]

That's about as far as I've gotten with my Glock 22.

I can get the trigger to reset about 3 out of 10 times, but beyond that I doubt could ever get it to chamber a round.

Actually... I should clarify that and say maybe with a lot of practice (and a few visits to a sports therapy specialist),
I could do it, but I can think of better ways to waste my time.

Just for shit's- n-giggles, I tried it with my 1911 with the recoil spring removed and the hammer cocked. Now even my senile, wheelchair bound, arthritic, one-armed grandmother could do it. [smile]

For about 2/10ths of a seconds I considered getting out my XD and trying. Then I looked at the stack of workpapers sitting on my desk that I still need to complete before work tomorrow, and I changed my mind. Enough wasting time on NES, back to work!
