My friend called me at dusk to say he saw a Moose on Rte 3 SB before Rte 95 at the power lines, and scared it away when he tried to take a picture.
About 2 hours later I get a call from co-workers that a moose was hit by a car on Rte 3 NB at Rte 62 in Bedford. One of the troopers (a hunter) estimated it weighed 400-500 lbs, was a 1 1/2 year old, and it had a samll deer-like rack.
I hope we begin to see more and more (although the car had it's roof ripped off, and the driver was seriously injured). There is no chain ling fence along Rte 3 (only some old, downed, "stock" fence from years ago).
