mini 30 question?

I have 2 Ruger mini 14's and I love them both. I was talking to a buddy of mine and he has a mini 30 for sale. He tells me theres about 40 rounds fired through it but there was a problem with it. He said after the 1st trigger squeeze it fired 2 or 3 rounds rapid fire then the the whole trigger guard with the action popped out of the bottom. After reassembling he fired 1 round and the action came out again. he sent it to Ruger to be fixed and when he got it back he said it was fine. I'm just a little curious, has any one had or heard of this problem. I couldn't find anything on this issue on line. I'de like to get a mini 30 but I'm a little weary about this particular one.

I had a friend that had the same issue with his mini 30. Turned out to be not enough tesion on the trigger guard and the recoil was causing it to pop off. Could have been from being a little too aggressive and bending the trigger guard when it was field stripped.
