Maura Healy at The Big E... today

Just got a text from a friend,... he had a brief conversation with her that went like this..

I just spoke with MH, I was messin with her.. and said, "you did a great job on the AR." She said, "She's not done until every one is off the street"

He then said, "she was as serious as a heart attack" she also said "they are going to offer a credit for the AR" ...

she had an escort of 6 state cops...

Six troopers; Maura must be scared or thinks that she's actually important. I had a discussion with Lt. Governor Kerry Healey in Dick's in Danvers years ago when she was there to purchase running sneakers. She only had one trooper with her, and the closer I got to her while talking, the more he puffed up his chest. [laugh]

That's going to be interesting, by implying a buyback indicated that they would be arguing the taking clause of the 5th amendment and that just compensation will be offered when taking private property under the guise of "public use". I would love to see the spin on this one.

The 6 troopers thing is a power statement.
Something that should be brought up the next time we call our reps.
How much does that traveling circus cost the taxpayers ?

She is offering a buy back before they ALL get banned?

Maybe the folks who did not FA10 their lowers were smart not to do so.

If you have a registered lower on a FA10 - you are going to get a knock on the door unless you give up for a Wal-Mart $50 gift card.

That is the next step here.

Is Maura going to offer fair market for an AR lower?

Remember, a lower is an Assault Weapon now.

Is she going to offer $2000 for a lower?

If not I'll take $1000 for the lower and I'll strip out all the parts.

$2000 is not enough for a AR.

Some upper receivers cost $2000 + $1500 for the optic, $300 for the trigger, $250 for a Magpul pinned UBR, $350 for a Noveske Gen 3 lower.

Some folks have almost $5000 in one rifle.

Will she give that guy $5000?

If not people should keep the parts and make a lower out of a bar of soap to keep for a rainy day.

Giving us some money with one hand while you take our guns is extortion and fraud. Someone should complain to the AG.

And the best part of all? Any money used for a "buyback" would be your own (taxpayer) money. What an evil scheming witch she is.

The good news is that NSSF along with several MA gun dealers has filed a lawsuit against her, my google fu is weak, there's a thread in NES on it.

who approves the six state troopers?? Surely she cannot just call up the MSP and request 20 troopers to escort her. She has to make the request and someone Needs to approve it... My speculation points to Faker Baker?????

If you didn't know this was in her mind - you didn't listen to the presser. "At this time" & "Reserve the right to amend" should have been your clue.

You will get a nice letter stating the 'law' and what they know you have, and provide you with a list of places to turn it in, and a date to get it done by. Along with threats of arrest, seizure of assets - all the usual stuff.

So, lets say that happens, you are caught and you know it. Do you roll over or do you take more direct action?

My bet is what's going on in Charlotte will look like a pillow fight compared to what will happen here. We aren't going to burn and loot, we aren't going to go stand in the street - we will use what The Founders left us.

Which is why this won't happen until post election, possibly post inauguration; that way Hillary will send in the Army to bail out her buddy and use it as an excuse to go federal with new laws.

I bet she's the one that approves all requests for MSP escort. Wouldn't that just be ironic!

I'm trying to think of a price at which I would give up my AR-15 to the Government.

Yea, no. Sorry, not for sale at any price. er, Maybe a million $ so I could just find an easy way to get another one or quite a few other close substitutes.

Is there even precedent for a forced buy back here in the US? Australia is a different ball-o-wax

No. People just wanna get all spun up over something. It's like high school in here sometimes. As if she has any authority to do that.

No kidding, and why pray tell does she need six cops and under who's authority? who paid for this detail and were they armed? after all isn't she afraid of guns? There is no end with these Hypocrites is there.

In fairness, she had no authority to alter laws that were in place for decades, either, but she did.

NOTHING prevents her from issuing an order to the People instructing them to turn in their guns.

That order would have the same validity in law as her order from July 20 (that is to say, NONE) but some would still obey it.

Please see July 20th, 2016.

If she decides that, due to public safety, she is going to require all 'Assault Weapons' (as currently defined) that were obtained after 1994 to be removed from the state, permanently disabled or turned into police by a certain date; or face prosecution. Guess what, she can do that with what she did on the 20th and was allowed to stand. Does she have the stones is the only question - and due to the lack of real response from the House, Senate and Governor I would say it's already in the works. More so if the OP is accurate in her statement.

It can't happen only once - then it's history.

Dunk tank?... (Can you imagine how far back the the line of NES'ers would stretch?)
My guess is 3. Too high?

If they give the contestants a baseball to throw at the target, wonder how many "wild pitches" would be launched that plunk the "dunkee" in the puss instead of the target...

I was accurate in my post.... no BS from me

So... Lemme get this straight: Maura's walking around a fair, and randomly "announcing" her legal strategy/strategies/intents.. to anyone within earshot?.... (I've got a bridge to sell to anyone who's buyin')

Yep, get it straight.....did I say she made an announcement or did I say she had a one on one conversation with a friend of mine.. ... read what I said and get it straight.. how much for the bridge..

Sorry Dennis, but she already rewrote the law once.. can you tell me what's stopping her from trying it again.. not sure about High school.. but I think we all get wound up when someone does something that affects our freedoms..
