It seems that all veterans are eligible for either a $500 or $1000 bonus from the state for serving on or after 7/11. The wording is iffy, but anyone can go to the state website, click on the treasurers link, and go to the 'Veterans' Bonus Program' for a copy of the instructions and application. Of course, there is a tax form included.
Seems like a no-brainer, but the instructions and letter I received lead me to believe that I may not be eligible because I didn't live in MA 6 mo. prior to my last enlistment, or the enlistment before that. I did live for 20 years and did enlist in MA. I think their wording is twistable, but I'm going to try it anyway.
Anybody know what their cut is from the W9 tax form?
