Ok thanks for info. I was thinking of doing the barrel under the hand guard in case I want to return it to rifle length for easier resale in the future.

i'm going to have zero hour arms do the engraving. they share the building w/
a machine shop, they did the last 2 for me, i think 40 or so, i honestly don't remember
as time gets closer, i'll double check w/ them

romokid, don't quote me on this, but i believe that the engraving
has to be visable, it can't be under the handguard
again, not 100% sure, but i don't think you can engrave the barrel
must be on the receiver

The serial number must be engraved on the frame or receiver.

Additional information can be engraved on the frame, receiver or barrel.

Both must be "conspicuous" (i.e. "wholly unobstructed from plain view").
