Marlborough MA 1/27 & 28 2024Please

Anthony Martinello from Sutton was the vendor police escorted out one of the Marlboro shows at the request of the promoter for openly selling Glocks. His reasoning was that they are on the Approved Roster so that should have been enough (and it should have been). Other vendors disagreed and so the promoter had him thrown out after a couple warnings. As you know, the "core" group of vendors carry a lot of weight with the promoter.

Eventually, the AG's office put him out of business.

In addition to the Glocks... and long before them... he sometimes had some interesting collectibles, a couple of which ended up in my collection. [thumbsup]
This alone should be the reason never to go to the Marlboro Gun Show ever.

Dealers eating their own...sounds to me like the core group of vendors are bunch of fxcking cxnts that I would never want to buy anything from.

Yeah, I can't (and won't) defend the promoter for his bad decisions other than to say that without a firm commitment from the "core" group of dealers, there really is no gun show... just a flea market of sorts. That's why the "core" dealer group carries so much weight. The Martinello incident was a hard pill for me to swallow and it only got worse when the AG's office got involved and put them out of business.

Despite continued impressive attendance, the MA shows are slowly dying. Some of the very best dealers have given up on the shows. Others have taken their places, but as members here have pointed out: It's sure not the same as the good old days.

I kept asking all the dealers where are all the gun show loopholes deals? The news keeps telling me I can buy them there.

Not one loophole I could find for sale.

Hi I’m (not that) Chris from NES, do you sell loopholes?

Gunshows were killed (or replaced) by the internet. No need to go anywhere to get a good deal on exactly what you want. Not only have gunshows gone to hell but all kinds of shows have disappeared. There used to be camera shows, coin & stamp shows, train shows, computer shows and more. All gone. In many cases the value of stuff also came down. The internet had a big effect on the value of some of my cameras.

There are still good deals available at gun shows.
