I took a side trip to check out a M89 Danisk Krag I had received a tip on; actually it was on the way home from a family outing, but no matter. This was the first time I had seen one. I have no idea on what is correct or not for these.
1. Deep, dark blue finish with moderate surface pitting - almost seemed reblued over pitting.
2. 1910 dated receiver, non duffle-cut honest bolt MM. Crown10 on receiver; first year of modification, the M1889/10 with manual safety.
3. Dark, glossy walnut stock - looked like it was clear coated.
4. Bore was very good. LONG slender rifle, almost 9cm longer than a Gew98.
5. 1st Regiment stock disk.
6. $595, consignment piece.
Time to do a little research...
Any help appreciated...
