I picked up some surplus 7.5 swiss ammo for my K31 today, and it does not look exactly look like the "regular GP-11" ammo that I buy. If anyone can help identify, or offer advice, I would appreciate it.

The box label is as follows:

Code 1305-111-0100
Quantite' 15
Designation CART 7,5 MM
BAL ORD
LAM CHA
Lot 78 ALM 75
Nomenclature 1305-14-041-0269

Observations
Etuis LAITON 2-ALM-75
Amorces M^1e (?) 1951 4-SFM-75
Balles O M ^1e 1924C 2-ALM-75
Poudre B Pa (0,3) C 47-PB-74
charge 2,98g

The cartridge itself is headstamped as follows"

2-75 (top)

L (left side)
M

V (right side)
D

7.5 (bottom)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since I do not have a digital caliper, I cannot make detailed measurements. However, here are some observations:

- The brass length is about 2mm shorter than the GP-11 cartridge
- The neck shoulder starts about 1-2 mm before the GP-11 cartridge
- The angle of the neck is greater than that of the GP-11 cartridge (about 45 degrees compared to 30 degrees)
- As a result, the shoulder is at least 1 mm longer that the GP-11 cartridge
- The overall length is 2-3 mm less than the GP-11 cartridge

I've searched online and found a little info, but nothing to make me feel totally safe about shooting these cartridges. The place I bought them offered no help. He just threw up his hands and shrugged. So, if anyone is able to help, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, I've just bought some new paperweights.

Thanks Jose. As it turns out, that is exactly what it is. I found a site that lists the headstamp and the description of the box to a "T". It is apparently a Syrian import.

So now, I can either resell the ammo, or buy a MAS. [smile]
