    Son Mark just took his first black bear. Lots of them where he hunts but most are too small. He is looking for a brown. Jack.

    Up there they use .338 Win Mag and .375 H&H. Jack.

    Being an Alaska resident, I think it's two black and one brown. May vary from area to area. I'll double check with him. Jack.

    For Browns it depends on where he lives. Residents can take one bear every four years, one bear every year or two bears every year based on the zone.

    Is he using a guide? A guy I was stationed with once upon a time is a guide up there.

    He is a AK resident and can hunt without a guide. I believe that he can also guide non residents. Jack.
