I need foam

So i ended up getting a 7.62x54r ammo crate and now i just need the foam to finish the project.

Where do i get it and how do i cut it? Looking for a solid piece about 1.5-2in thick and another thin piece maybe 1/2 inch thick

Do a search here on NES. I recall a thread a very long time ago and think that some companies that sell foam suitable for a gun case (no sulfur content) were mentioned in that thread.

Just make sure it doesn't contain sulfur or it will damage your gun's finish. That's why the stuff made for gun boxes is much more expensive.

Does pelican pick and pluck foam have sulfur?

I say what's more important, a few cushions off the couch, or a good lining for the gun cabinet, it already has man skin fragments and other junk we leave hanging around so why not use it, ultimately you have to make the choice, I already know what I would do.
