Please, God please 50bmg or Martin or Juergen PLEASE posts some cool pics of some insanely rare/cool/neat firearm you have hidden away in a vault somewhere.

I cant take all the negativity on NES/Facebook/News/Work about the hobby I love so much. I just tried reading through the main board and I couldnt even bring myself to read anything NES is my calm down time when I finally make it home before falling asleep within and hour or two. Im tired of being made to feel "responsible" for the actions of some lunatic, and I want my damn hobby back.

So much of my collection is based upon my love of being able to put history in the hands of those that would have never considered some of the things I get to explain to them by the fact they are holding a living piece of history. I love seeing the "light" above someones head when they "get" the firearms community or understand why it is SO important to continue this heritage and collect and shoot these working artifact of the error of our human history....

I feel like that is lost

EDIT: I mean this post in way disrespectful to those that lost someone they love in Conn. I have twins that are five and they with my wife are my entire world and I would never been the same if anything happened to them. I dont see how holding a political "debate" and propaganda storm by the media is actually supposed to help the healing of these families

EDIT 2: Thanks guys for the pics and the history

Okay, I'm glad it wasn't just me that felt this way. Don't worry my friend, it will bounce back and NES will be back to bitching about the usual shit in no time. We just need to STOP clicking on all the outside bullshit media drivel that has been polluting this world for the past week.

You are not alone DRB and I just posted a nice FN 1900 to look at and make yourself feel better.

Earlier today I decided I just had to walk away from my computer as I was feeling the same way. Lets hope we all can band together and pool our resources and get through this unscathed. IMHO, there is no compromise as we are not at fault.

Check out my 1900.

Amen to this.
It's especially bad for me since a LOT of people I'm close to are very anti-gun... I'm getting it from all directions.
The negativity sucks ass.

Ill go...... no ban talk here.

This is one of my FAVORITE rifles as it has IMHO such a great number of indicators of where its been..... 1940 Finn VKT m91. Early Tula receiver, Austrian proofs, and rebuilt to fight the russians very early in the war

I LOVE the low serial number and this is a great mate to my 41 VKT m39

Until 50BMG and Martin08's posts and education I had NO idea of the Winter and Continuation wars and there overall effect on WW2 as a whole.... truely and amazing part of history that is rarely talked about. Im very pleased to own such and early example of that history

Ok... I will stop ranting, at least long enough to post this milsurp pic :)

An all matching DOT 44 late serial number put together in early 1945 just before the Russians over ran the CZ city in which it was made. It must have been on one of the last shipments out to the west. It has all the features of a late war kriegsmodel production including the rough mill work that can be seen in this pic. It is one I will never sell.

I'm in on this too!!! I know it's just a basic model and not blinged out at all. But it's my first 1911 an S&W 1911ss in 45acp, I love shooting it and cleaning it with all it's parts is actually pretty cool. I've learned a lot about the mechanical aspects of firearms from this gun. So it may not be much to look at but a 1911 always makes my day better!! If I could choose one gun to buy, no matter the cost would be an original 1911A1 in the case at NSFA. I don't think it's ever been fired and I believe it is a real GI issued gun that some how found it's way through the years in NIB condition!!

To mix it up a little here in this picture with 2 guns I traded in and now wish I hadn't. So that saying is true about never trading/selling any gun you buy!! An early addition Colt Mustang in .380 and my first revolver ever a 357 SW Highway Patrolman. I would buy them back in a minute!!

American Ensemble...

MS

Bravo, the rifles ( and carbines ) that defended our freedom from tyranny.

I need an 03a3 to round out my American 4, and just might be in the market after selling some stuff this AM

Picked up a case of M49 Yugo 8mm today (8/1953). Cost had gone up since last year; this one was $250, so almost .28/round now. Cost to my dealer is $220 now; increased shipping he says.

Cats had to check it out of course.

Got a very high quality repro M07 WWII sling from West Virginia yesterday. $21 shipped; replaced the cheesy vinyl like repro I had on my M03 Springfield.

Have plenty of 8mm now; about 1800 rounds. 3-4 years worth at my use.
Low on 30/06; about 260 rounds. Shooting a lot of this lately.
OK on M1 carbine; 250
Good on 32acp; 450 rounds.

Ordered the next volume of the new k98 book;

http://www.thirdpartypress.com/html/domesticorders.html

I can't recommend it enough; costly at $125 but none better. I think my Gew98M 'BahnSchutz' conversion is in it.

Damn, it's cold out there. A new American pic in honor of the 'frustrated thread'; had to dress the carbine in the Engineer's holster. Poor, watery winter lighting.

Three were out of the cabinet anyways as I'm off to the range.

Cold, cold...and windy...the burlap kept blowing up off the table.

I don't have anything as cool or rare as most of you. In this time of craziness I have spent my spare little hours as my house sleeps getting some old friends up and running. My post about my recent HRA grand is about all I have to post.
I'm down 5 in friends (current gun owners)who have been converted to the other side and are joining up with the anti gunners......as they don't own any of that stuff.....yuck.
I am long away from any purchases as I stocked up on bullets and powder to feed what I have.

Ok here is one for you mosin lovers, someone went stamp happy.

They had one of those 'Peter The Great' marked ones that I really wanted to grab, but I couldn't scrape together a spare $400 or whatever it was. This one looked pretty cool and was in with the rest of the 91/30 hex receivers.

I am still liking this thread. I will throw another one out. My union today came out against the selling and ownership of "assault weapons". My union, well, I should say my soon to be former union, wants me to turn my guns in to Zero. I have lost a couple of friends, union membership and I believe I will also need a new church soon. This stuff is serious. It is time for all of us to decide which side we are going to be on.

On a lighter note and in keeping with this thread.... I will post this pic.

I've been fighting the good fight all week. It's been depressing, but I'm standing my ground and dealing with all kinds of willful ignorance.

Here's some gun porn. (I'm too lazy to take a picture.)

Just placed my order for 3 cans of HXP 30/06 from CMP. I waited too long - they are out of 30/06 at the moment and my 3 cans are now back-ordered...[banghead]

Ok, Im curious WTF is that????

It is a Webley & Scott Model 1907 made in 1909. It is the original model pre variations as it has the early features. It is very small and in 6.35 Browning (25 ACP), all matching and in about 99% condition. It was marketed to the ladies of the English upper class.
