Honestly i do this stuff based on the lower i have a pretty tricked out build with a crusader lower.

This i may regret in 2 weeks but whatever its just a rattle can job so itll come off. I live in nh so a cheap ar to do this too is fine with me. Its all psa stuff for the most part

Where looking at looks, historically thats still fugly sad thing is I think someone paid to have that ceracoated that way NOT “ok guys this is what they gave us now paint them up”
I also think what I call Crayola Crayon Color in the Lines Camo jobs on M14 stocks is ugly. Correct maybe

Although im all for anyone splashing what ever patina they want on their rifles.

It's not bad, per se, depending on the effect you're going for.

To me, it looks exactly like a toy gun. The kind you'd get at Dollar Tree. If that's what you're into, then have at it!

Absolutely not historically correct. Rhodesian "Baby Poop" is easy to identify and that Cerakote job is garbage. Amateur paint jobs are typically high gloss. These below are real ones and there's very close kits that approximate Rhodesian paint:
