How Long to Get a CW permit in ME?

Anybody have the average time it takes to get a concealed weapon permit in Maine once you mail in your application? I'm going on 45 days and just curious. NH took less than a week. I assumed that Maine would take longer but less than 30 days. Anyone have experiences to share?

Don't know... I did mail in my application on Sept. 19th, and I haven't heard back yet.

On the cover letter that they send out with the information and application, the last sentence reads:

"This process takes approximately thirty to sixty days"

Guess there's the answer.

NH is an anomaly. Utah took me about 30 days, more or less.

Last time I renewed my Maine license it took about 6-7 weeks.

Maine takes a while. But it's relatively painless, all things considered.

I'm doing this from memory, but I believe the Maine statutes allow 30 days for a resident permit and 60 for a non-resident.
