Mike, I'll give you that. I just prefered not having any kind of ammo around when i dry fired, just my preference but I can understand how it could help with the feel from target to target.

If you don't load, get dummy rounds from Brownells. They have blackend cases to avoid confusion.
Should you want to practice shotgun loading, definately get the dummies from Brownells. I've been using those for a couple years, and the crimps are still good.

I think it might depend somewhat on the gun. I suspect a Glock might handle differently whether the magazine is loaded or not, but I doubt that my S&W Model 66 feels differently whether loaded or not - 6 38 spcl rounds just aren't that heavy compared.

Yeah I'm sure it does. When I'm shooting my Glock- sometimes I can feel the difference in the feel of the gun when it's 10+1 vs 1+1. That being said I practice reloads with empty mags usually- only because my biggest thing is getting a good index on the mags from my belt and inserting the mag smoothly into the gun. Maybe some dummy rounds would be more realistic and enhance this practice.
