I just received two boxes of Hornady .44 180gr XTP from the Hornady get loaded program. I am looking for some load data using Bulleseye for powder. Does anyone have a recipe that they have used?

Check Hornady's site for XTP load data.

The Hornady current reloading data book (red cover) also provides complete XTP load data.

Stick with published data. It's too easy to make a typo with other people's recipes. I have seen all too many times when decimal places were off, or people typed a 9 instead of a 6, etc, etc, etc. best for your eyes to ee it from a reliable source, first hand.

That's my dos centavos worth.

I can't seem to find the load data for it on the Hornady site and the Alliant site doesn't have load data for any 180 grain .44 mag.

My new Spear manual and my old 1982 Hornady manual only goes down to a 200 grain hp and neither one have a load for bullseye powder.

Save the Bullseye for another caliber like 9mm or .45acp, there's a reason why its not listed as a recommended powder in the manuals for .44mag and I believe the reason is its too fast.

John Ross (of Unintended Consequences fame) wrote an article years ago on reloading for the .44 magnum but I'll be damned if I can find it at the moment. Bullseye was not one of the recommended powders.

Very good advice!!!

Set the Bullseye aside for intended loads. Here's a slew of data c&p from the Hodgdon website:

Thanks for the input everyone. I am not going to go with any Bullseye recipe. My whole idea was to use Bullseye so that I didn't have to have another powder in my inventory. When I started reloading I mainly loading 9 and 45 and the Bullseye is great for that. After getting schooled last night from the elders at the club, I am going to stay away from the Bullseye for the .44 even though I have found recipes for it. One of my buddies has some extra 2400 laying around and I think I am going to use that.

Thanks again for your help.

2400 is what I use with the 180gr XTP. Even starting load is pretty stout, be careful with your measurement.
