Holster or no holster

I have a question for the LEOs here just based on your own personal experience. When you have encountered people illegally carrying handguns, do they ever have a holster?

Follow up question is the flip side - when you encounter a citizen carrying legally, do they ever not have a holster?

This is just my own curiosity. I was reading something that referred to the fact that criminals rarely use holsters.

Never ran into a holster on a felon. I've also never seen an unholstered pistol on any law abiding citizen in any job related encounter.

The FBI studies on LEO Killed in the Line of Duty goes in depth on attackers ams their weapons, method of carry, and training.

There is another statistic about how when an empty holster is found, a gun is within 10 feet 90% of the time....but I need to research that quote a bit more.
