I decided against getting amateur call plates because I think it just says expensive radio equipment in vehicle. The antenna is bad enough. Personally I'd be extra worried about having a firearm locked in my vehicle with one of those plugged into my receiver.

60 bucks for that amount of machine work + materials?? That's a more than fair price. I would say he's giving them away. Nice to see people giving a great value for a buck!
