Mossad isn't going to build an interrogation/hit squad with foreign operatives.

Define foreign. Israel supports dual citizenship and many Jews consider themselves Israeli despite not even living there or even spending significant time there. Israel even considers it every Jew's responsibility to serve in the Israeli army through conscription. Though through Mahal, this is not the same as what a single citizenship Israeli would have required of them. Regardless of all that, most jews consider themselves politically aligned with Israel at the very least, despite having little beyond religious connection to the area. This is something that is rather unique about Israeli identity. Muslims do not consider themselves palestinian nor arab despite pilgrimage.

So, would they have used britains? Yes, I believe they would have actually if they were jewish and committed. Would they have used their real names? Of course not and none of those passports were real. But it goes to show you that they need to dupe real passports in order to get past modern computer based checks.
