Help need advice on cleaning my desert eagle

I bought a nice 357 desert Eagle off a friend and all was great til my sunroof in my old car leaked onto the case it was in one day. So I go and open the bag and O MY GOD totaly rusted and pitted. I am curious as to what people use to clean and how to get this bad boy back to the original condition. Any help would be great. Thanks

I used a bristle brush, breakfree, and some TLC to bring and old shotgun back. Then I re-blued it.

People still live in Deer Isle? I lived in Stonington for a winter once. Eggemoggin Market still there?
