One of my favorite pictures is from the week I spent in OBX. It was the Friday after September 11th, and I needed to get away from the world. I drove through NYC on my way south and I got an up close and personal look at the destruction left behind by the collapse of the WTC.

This is a picture of my oldest son running along the beach in Pine Island, behind the house we rented that September.

He was so innocent at the time, completely contrary to where I was, mentally, after the attack on New York.
