It's funny, most times when people move they leave the snow behind and move south to the sunny states, I'm seeing everyone moving north into the snow [smile] [smile] [smile]. Not the norm.

[smile][smile]

You know, there are parts of NH that get a similar snowfall to MA, take Windham NH (where I live) for example: 5 mins on I-93 from the MA border, elected 13/13 Republicans to the state house, same weather as Northern MA (maybe a couple of degrees coller, maybe a couple of inches more snow per storm), all the benefits of living in NH: no income/sales tax, shall-issue LTC, cheaper housing, closer to the mountains/skiing/hunting etc etc

What's your ETA? Get up here before 2008 if you can. That'll be another vote for our side as we sweep the leftists out of the state house.

I'm shooting for the spring/summer of 08'. I have to get my ass in gear, and start finishing the house projects I want to get done before I put my house on the market.

I know plenty of people will want to stay in MA, if you know any that want to live in Medfield (great schools, extremely close proximity to 3 gun clubs [not something we put in the MLS flyer], great neighborhood, send them to me.

That way I can sell them my house and move to NH. Seriously.

Congrats Derek, my wife went to school in Rindge, nice little town. We have wanted to live in NH for a long time, I hope we can follow soon.

Do you have a lot of farm land in Windham? Or is it heavily developed? And are you filled with idiot moonbats? Or are there a lot of normal people there?

There is very little farm land as we are so close to the border and on the I-93 corridor, but there is a lot of hilly conservation land (there is a nice apple orchard 2 mins drive down the road plus I have a neighbor directly adjoining me on only one side, the other sides are about 140 acres of wooded conservation land).

It is more heavily developed than the North and West of the State but less heavily than adjoining towns like Derry or Salem, there is almost no commercial or industrial zoned land - it is all residential, and lot sizes are at least an acre unless you are on cobbetts pond or canobie lake.

We're close to MA so there is a good assortment of moonbats, but not enough to get any Democrats elected [smile]. There are enough however that some spending increases are sneaking into the town (and school) budget.

I decided I liked Windham when I went to the Town Clerks office for just the second time and the staff there remembered my name [grin]

Every time we cross the border it feels ohh such much better and I always mention how much better the roadways are. My wife just nods ah huh. Some day in the not too distant future!

Try selling her on how scenic it is and how nice the people are. And maybe about how much you can save in income taxes or something like that.

If all that fails, then tell her there are tons of really hot guys up here she can ogle as she's going about her business. Who knows, she might be shallow enough that she'll fall for it. Either way, we win!!!

[wink][laugh]

Edit: Wait, what the hell am I thinking? Duh! Okay, tell her that there are GOBS OF GREAT SHOPPING OPPORTUNITIES!!!! SALES GALORE!!! TONS OF CLOTHES STORES, KNICK KNACKS AND WHATEVER OTHER CRAP SHE LOVES TO BUY!!!

Once she realizes the shopping potential, you had better get the hell out of her way as she plows across the border with all of your stuff in tow. [laugh]

She knows that there is more snow in NH, and she hates snow. Too many years south of the Mason-Dixon. I'd gladly take more snow in return for fields full of high capacity magazines. [smile]

That and she's the well-paid one, not me. [wink]
