My Hornady LnL is starting to chatter on the down stroke. So evidently it must have to be greased.

What do you guys use to grease the fittings on yours?

I use good automotive bearing grease.

You know, from waaaaay back when there were actually grease fittings on your car's ball joints and steering mechanism.......

Geeez!!! What a pain in the @#$ to find a small grease gun with a tube that fits it.

I got one at Northern Tool and it comes with a tube of grease. $12.95+ shipping..

Be real careful with those fittings. One of my peeves with theLnL is they used cheap press-in fittings instead of threaded ones. If you snap the retainer on the grease gun onto the fitting, it will rip it off the press when you try to remove it. Ask me how I know.

I gave the ram a spray with Hornady one shot.

What a difference, it runs real smooth now. I know it still needs to be greased but the ram isn't chattering any more.

That Hornady one shot is great.

I don't bother using the grease fittings anymore. I just lube it by hand sometimes with oil sometimes grease. As long as you get a little grease in the ram grease grove you'll be fine. I use oil on the other links.
