After taking the rear sites off of my daughter’s new to her Stevens model 66 and beating them straight with a hammer on an anvil, then replacing the front site assy with something I found on ebay for $2, and screwing it all back together without really measuring anything, she shot a group that was about ½ an inch off center at 20 yards.

I was expecting to spend the first half hour just trying to figure out where the shots were landing but we had a good zero in about 5 minutes. I think that used up all my luck for the week.

Good job! It's nice when the Gods smile on you like that. Clean up the sight you had to beat on, add a little cold blue, and I'll bet that no one would even know that it was worked on. Best of all, you rescued an old gun. Enjoy! [grin]
