Hey All. I'm going to be moving from CA to CT on Feb 1, 2019. I just found through some online reading that it would be better for me to apply for a CT out-of-state pistol permit before moving to CT, as the process of an out-of-state applicant is much easier and faster than that of a CT resident. My initial question is: Is it worth it? If I call the CT state police now and request an application, I would wait 1 week. Then, I'd immediately mail it out with the expectation that it would start processing in the beginning of January. That gives me about 4 weeks until my move. What if by the time I move the application is still being processed? Where does that put me? And if the best course of action is to apply for an out-of-state permit right now, then how do I know if the course I took in order to obtain my CA Orange County CCW meets CT's course requirements? Any help/insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
