German snipers

Anybody know anything about German sniper scopes?

This is a Gerard scope. I've been told they were used in WWII by the Germans. Another guy said WWI. I would love a link to some info..

I have Senich's German Sniper 1914 - 1945. I'll take a look at that to see if I can find you any info.

EDIT:

According to Senich it is a WWI scope. The army procured several models.

WWI, really? It looks a lot more modern than that. I bought the rifle for the scope. The rest of it is an abortion.
