To the OP: Thank you for sharing. That is good information and will probably save a new re-loader from making a mistake. The picture says it all. There are quite a few newbies on here that need to see that.
As far as a question from another poster on lifespan of .45 brass, in my experience (about 5000 rounds of .45) only discovered 6 cracked cases. Most of them were nickel plated. I have worn out the primer pocket on a lot of cases, too many to count.
