Yep, this has been debunked by the Brady folks. It turns out that all 10.8 million were bought by the same guy, and since he already had guns, there is no net increase in gun ownership.

that's what I was thinking! It would really be something if that was almost 11 million new gun owners, but my sense is that most of those were bought by people that already own guns already.

Most of what I bought were with my C&R so they won't be included in those numbers. I believe what I bought from the CMP are in there though. This year I promise to buy at least two from a dealer to help boost those numbers.

It only takes that many rounds if you are zeroing someone else's gun and it is fun to shoot...
