Is it OK to check more than one firearm onto a flight? Or, more to the point, has anyone ever had an experience where a airline gave them shit for transporting more than one firearm?

This is American's policy on checked firearms...

* Maximum per case is 3 rifles/shotguns or 5 pistols/revolvers, 5 lbs. ammunition, shooting mat, noise suppressors, and tools. There is no limit on the amount of cases allowed.
* Ammunition is limited to 11 lbs. per passenger. Excess baggage charges may apply to each gun case if it is in excess of the free baggage allowance and/or oversize/overweight.

There are FAA Rules on transporting firearms and ammo. THEN there are AIRLINE RULES! Each airlines sets their own rules, so one company may allow multiple guns and another may well give you crap about it.

Then there is TSA! [rolleyes] Sometimes they make up their own rules . . . and sometimes they conflict with the law and other rules.
