I make a practice of going up to my parents to saw and chop wood for their wood stove every year. This year I decided to bring up my new to me Kimber 1911. My 74 year old mother wanted to try it so we stapled a target to a tree 50 ft off the back porch. (yeah, they live that far out in the sticks that they can safely shoot off their back porch) She put 7 shots in a 3 inch group about 2 inches low of the bull. First time ever shooting a pistol. Not bad for an old lady. I wasn't too surprised by the results though because I can remember her shooting a .45 cal muzzle loader when I was growing up. She could overlap 3 shots of ball ammo at 80 yds. I guess she has not lost her eye even after 40 years.
