I was qualifying today and my instructor told me that my firing pin may break off because its imprinting "too much" making a rectangle impression rather than a cirrcle.
Its a Glock Pistol and I think this is normal but Thought I would ask if anyne knows... Im ganna try and get pics of "mine vs. others"

after the firing pin hits, it retracts right.

he was saying that the firing pin will be stuck in the shell when it ejects cauing the pin to be pulled to the side... but Im almost positive this is not the case.

IDK if anyone can reassure me. but im almost positive im fine.

thanks

Put a thousand rounds through it tomorrow. If it doesn't break you should be good :)

Glocks never have and never will make a round impression, They use a square cut (rectangular) striker. Instructor must not be familiar with a Glock. That is the brass I always run through my EGW die [wink]

What you're seeing is perfectly normal for a Glock.

+1000... see it all the time. Hell, the Glock firing pin isn't even circular, so its kinda to be expected that it would leave an oddball print.
