Firearms Record Bureau changes renewals.

I had an appointment for a renewal of a 131F non-resident over the summer. Today I received a letter with my renewal LTC. The letter stated that renewal in-person visits are at the discretion of the FRB and to disregard my upcoming “appointment” over the summer.

I’ve never had a hard time. I’ve had one for almost 20 years. It’s just nice to not have to waste my time in Chelsea for no reason. They could even use permitium and IdentoGo for 1st time applicants and there is no reason to have anyone go there. If they want a new photo every 5 or 10 years, we can just send them one.

If more people apply, they will probably eventually end up doing something like this.

I did the math on the license numbers. They issue about 20 every business day, they couldn’t keep up with their BS appointments so that’s why they went to this.

You mentioned that you had a "renewal". An In person interview appointment is only required every 7 years. Are you at the 7 year mark? Isn’t it every 6 years?
