Fire at Al's Gun and Reel

Al & his family are safe, the fire did start in the house. The fire department did hose down the shop as I would expect them to do with all of that ammo. He's waiting on the insurance company to check it out,and will be back in business as soon as possible.

Al's Gun Shop, Derry NH had a fire Sunday

Al had a fire at his house Sunday. The Chimney liner failed and there was extensive damage to the house. The shop was spared, probably just some water and smoke damage.

DERRY — A local business owner spent yesterday cleaning up after fire damaged his home and gun store.

The fire broke out Sunday afternoon at the home of Al and Theresa Bacon and their business, Al's Gun and Reel Shop at 5 Linwood Ave.

Flames tore through the second floor and attic shortly before 2:30 p.m., as firefighters from Derry and Londonderry worked to get the blaze under control, according to Battalion Chief Mike Gagnon of the Derry Fire Department.

Glad everyone's OK. But, dang - That shop was kinda like heading into grampa's attic: Crowded and packed to the rafters, with a few treasures scattered among all the less interesting stuff.

Leave it to Al to be so honest that he needs an actual fire before he can have a fire sale.

Glad to hear that Al, Theresa, and his intense inventory all made it through the fire okay.

Never been there, but if anyone has an ETA as when he'll be able to do business again... I'd like to shoot over and make some purchases in support of what sounds by some posts here to be a good fellow.
