Thank you : Not sure, I've heard Nickel does pretty well but as we all know holsters will wear/scratch anything over time. I was planning to carry this one but decided against it. Range and home protection duty only!

I would carry it and not worry about wear.Buy a good leather,lined holster and wear it proudly.If the finish gets worn down the road,just refinish it.

So carry it for 30 years or so and sometime buy another one without scratches for your safe. The patina of use is the only thing nicer looking than fresh hard chrome or nickel

Thank you..It appears the sides are polished stainless and the top and edges are trimmed in Nickel. I couldn't get a straight answer from Smith and Wesson.
