a while ago a friend of mime told me to get a product called evapo rust from Brownells.
I used it to restore a trapdor musket from 1850.

Evapo rust worked great. I just submerged the rifle I'm the product for 2days and the rust was all gone. THe best part is that you don't need gloves and it can be poured down the drain.

Give it a try, it is excellent. I still have a gallon left up in westford if anyone wants to try it.

It will not remove rust instantly, you have to submerge the parts for a few hours or a few days, depending on the amount of rust.

Works well, but the smell really bugs me. I have a bottle of their (Orison) rust converter which is good stuff too.

smell? i had my riffle inside a plastic pipe in the bathroom for 2 days in an apartment, and it didnt smell.

Works great, will freeze, left me with an ice cube full of CZ50 parts. Still works after it thaws, though!

LOL. water based. good to know that it still works when it thaws. thanks for taking one for the team.
