New Hampshire Fish and Game Commission Could Be Dissolved Under New Bill!

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Please Stand-Up and Make Your Voices Heard!

On Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m., the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee will consider a bill that could have disastrous effects on New Hampshire’s sportsmen and hunting heritage.

Senate Bill 132 would merge several state-run agencies and programs without regard to its impact on New Hampshire’s hunters. As amended, SB132 would essentially dissolve the Fish and Game Commission and assign the Department of Safety (New Hampshire State Police) control.

If enacted, this bill could prove detrimental to the Granite State’s sportsmen. Systems like this have been tried in other states and sportsmen and the wildlife upon which they depend always pay a heavy price. SB132 would create a 16 member commission appointed primarily by unelected bureaucrats. Fish and Game would only have one vote of the 16. This means that potentially 15 anti-gun, anti-hunting, animal “rights” bureaucrats would be delegated the responsibility of deciding such issues as regulations, licensing fees, game management, bag limits, and scheduling of seasons.

Please contact the members of the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose SB132. Contact information for the committee can be found below.
