Crazy story of the man who fought for Finland, the Nazis, and US Army Special Forces

There were a lot of 1st generation Europeans in SF. One of my dad's buddies wound up in SF. He retired because they wanted him to go to a place called Vietnam and be an "Advisor" but didn't want him to carry a rifle.

How does a Nazi SS officer who was jailed by our ally then escaped become a soldier in the us army?

Finns...the Apaches of Europe.

As for von Braun, post WWII, the fear of the Soviets allowed a lot of otherwise objectionable behavior a pass.

I forget where I read it, but an answer to "Why did we beat the Russians to the Moon?" Was: "We had better Nazis."
Von Braun The story of his surrender is too crazy to make up.

But our first missile launch is said to have used German fire commands.
