I've got a recent (just yesterday and today) issue with the NES Android app where the app force closes and dumps me back to the recent activity screen. It usually happens after scrolling about halfway down in a thread, and sometimes takes 20-25 taps on the force close button for it to work.

I'm on a Sprint EVO 4G running the current build Swagged Out Stock ROM (stock carrier ROM minus bloatware & CarrierIQ):
-Android 2.3.3
-Baseband 2.15.00.07.28
-2.6.35.10 stock HTC kernel flashed over Swagged Out Stock 1.9.0.5 ROM

Reboot doesn't fix it...haven't tried reinstalling the app, though.

Chiming in with a me too. Droid X phone. I gave up and went to reading NES on the browser last night. It has been behaving so far this morning though.

Yes one of the last forum updates has made the app pretty much useless. vBulletin hasn't attempted to update the android app, as soon as they do I will update it for the forum.

Good to know. Thanks.

Is that ROM over on XDA?

How good are you at doing these? What is your source of information on these?

Would this be the only way to get rid of the Verizon VCast apps? I also have a "Blockbuster" app I'd like to see go away.

Right now, on:
Pantech "Breakout" phone
Android 2.3.3
Kernel 2.6.35.7-perf
Build GRI 40

I am seeing on Wikipedia that there are a total of 4 newer versions of Android out since 2.3.3:

3.0 Honeycomb was a tablet-oriented[44][45][46] release which supports larger screen devices and introduces many new user interface features, support for multi-core processors, hardware acceleration for graphics[47] and full system encryption.[48][49] The first device featuring this version, the Motorola Xoom tablet, went on sale in February 2011.[50][51]

3.1 Honeycomb, released in May 2011, added support for extra input devices, USB host mode for transferring information directly from cameras and other devices, and the Google Movies and Books apps.[52]

3.2 Honeycomb, released in July 2011, added optimization for a broader range of screen sizes, new "zoom-to-fill" screen compatibility mode, loading media files directly from SD card, and an extended screen support API.[53] Huawei MediaPad is the first 7 inch tablet to use this version [54]

4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, announced on October 19, 2011, brought Honeycomb features to smartphones and added new features including facial recognition unlock, network data usage monitoring and control, unified social networking contacts, photography enhancements, offline email searching, app folders, and information sharing using NFC. Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest Android version that is available to phones. The source code of Android 4.0.1 was released on November 14, 2011.[55]

latest update

I got an update for my NES app about a week ago, and the force closes that stopped occurring last month have started once again. Right now, if I try to read the self defense bill thread in the general forum I get a force close. It is weird, as it is certain threads. I was able to open the check in thread which is 400+ pages, so it is not the thread size that is causing it.

HTC Thunderbolt
Verizon
Cyanogen mod 7.1.1
Android version 2.3.7
