Ok, I know that several of us would like to be able to get a rifle from the CMP.

So, I was thinking...and Jay and I were talking to each other at the show.

But do we want to get a group together sometime when it's warmer and go to a shoot somewhere to get our Cert??

Who on here would be interested?

Check out BR&P CMP shoots each month on the 3rd Saturday. www.brp.org for directions and details.

I'll likely be working as RO for many of these events.

Hell, it's not like this is expensive to do. I think that Hanson has it for like 20 bucks or something. Riverside is 30 bucks. Braintree is only 15 bucks.

So I don't mind doing a little round about to the different clubs.

I can't believe that more people aren't interested on here.

Unless most have already done that. I guess that I'll be going alone. :(

Not that I don't want to, we have alot to accomplish here with the house(renovations), Justin graduating, then heading to AIT,us going to his graduation from AIT,his girlfriend moving in,plus the 2 of them having a baby, and him deploying in 07. Plus our guys coming back somewhere in all that. Just alot on the plate. We are even forgoing 4-wheeling this year so we can renovate the house.

I'm in. I always wanted a Garand

I just noticed this.
Participation in a rifle, pistol, air gun or shotgun competition (provide copy of results bulletin).

I wonder if my USPSA membership card with my classification on it will suffice

Any current LEOs also automatically qualify without shooting in a match.

The exemption list has grown rather long in the past year or two.

C-pher,

If I'm reading the CMP site correctly, the Class A LTC should suffice:

http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/eligibility_requirements.htm

Marksmanship or other Firearms Related Activity

...

Concealed Carry License.

Although I sure wouldn't mind getting together, of course...

Yep if you have an LTC you do not need to have a qualified shoot. Last year, I sent them a copy of my LTC and a tracing of my card key, with a copy of my dues bill from MRA to prove my affiliation with a CMP club and I was good to go.

Bugie

Hmmm. Let's recap:

CMP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. U.S. Citizenship: Check.

2. Age: Check

3. Membership in CMP Affiliated Organization:

Affiliate Information
Name: Gun Owners' Action League

Check.

4. Marksmanship or other Firearms Related Activity:

Concealed Carry License

Check.

5. Be Legally Eligible to Purchase a Firearm: See above. Check.

That's it. Hot damn! Time to order up a Springer, methinks... ;)
