CALL THE MIDDLESEX DA and tell them you want Medford Det Stephen Lebert investigated

...
Lebert was off duty in July when he stopped the driver. Medford Police placed Lebert on leave after viewing the driver’s dashboard camera video.
A disciplinary hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 15 to determine whether Stephen Lebert should be terminated or suspended.
...

I noticed it does not mention "...on UNPAID leave", though.

Medford Police, in a Sept. 14 notice to Detective Stephen Lebert, say Lebert broke several department rules in connection with him stopping a driver who went through a Medford rotary the wrong direction. Police have administratively cited Lebert for conduct unbecoming an officer, conduct injurious to the public peace and welfare, breaking the department's pursuit policy and for violating its use of force policy.

Ooooh. "Administratively cited."

That sounds bad.

Is that harsher, or less-severe than a "tongue lashing," or the ever-injurious "slap on the wrist?"

Again, consequences?

If any of us said 1/3 of what he did, we would be cuffed, stuffed and serving time.

Let him go. He does not seem suitable to be a police officer, and based on his comments, he will, or has the potential to commit violent acts against community members.

In the notice, police say Lebert was previously suspended in 1986 for “an alarming disregard for the safety and welfare of your fellow police officers,” when he heard a gunshot at the police station, according to the Sept. 14 notice.
Lebert was also suspended for five days in 1986 for failing to appear in court to give testimony in a case that was later dismissed, according to the notice.
Lebert was also suspended for two days for “participating in and contribution to the use of unnecessary and unreasonable force,” against an individual. Police say the suspension was related to a 1992 incident in Woburn,

Based on the material here, he has been through the progressive discipline process, So now there really is no recourse but to terminate his services.
Other than that, I'm sure he's a great guy. Salt of the earth.

There aren't many jobs where you can regularly be rude, even abusive to people, occasionally threatening their lives and retain your job. And I can only think of one job where you can be rude, even abusive to people, occasionally threatening their lives and get a paid vacation for it.
Actually, there are several - depending on the offender's race, gender, ethnic background, social standing family connections etc...

What's that? You're a middle-aged, middle income, white guy with a wife and three kids? No relatives in the town or the company?...
"Hit the road, Jack. And don't you come back. No more no more...."

As a Medford resident, I look forward to this detective serving and protecting the shit out of me in the near future.
This.
And as if half the current Medford force is any better? It's systematic, ingrained. Starting WAY UP the chain of command and trickling all the way down. Lebert is an as*hole, always has been, everyone at MPD knows it and always knew it.

But he's "one of us".
(Follow the blood line)

What else do you expect from the elite... protect their own at the cost of the taxpayer. Want to bet his hire date just passed and he got another year of service and more money out of the citizenry?

Dragged on long enough to secure his 25 but if charges were filed for threatening with a firearm then what?

He'll move on to traffic details and private security work and rake in the bucks plus have his pension.

He resigned. They are keeping him on administrative leave with pay until they can finish filing his retirement papers.

Your right - He will probably get some big security gig at one of the casinos making the big bucks

Gotta love these gem quotes...

"“When he’s good, he’s on the top of his game, he gives 110 percent,” Sacco said in August. “Every day is like his first day on the job.”"

Yes, and when Adolf Hitler was good, I'm sure he was a great soldier, too. [rofl]

Never happen. The town did it this way because if he gets prosecuted that opens a bigger can of worms for them... [thinking]

And the Middllesex DA Marian Ryan is the most incompetent hack DA this state has seen in a long time. Gerry Leone was the DA and resigned to take a high paid law firm position in boston. Deval then appointed ryan as acting DA a few years ago and because it's a strong D district, she got elected.

It was her office who let jared remy out to murder. And it was her office who put the irish nanny in jail for 2 yrs for murdering an infant she was caring for a few years ago (this isn't the british nanny case, it's a more recent one). It was obvious from day one this irish nanny was innocent and the kid died from something unrelated to her. She had dozens of former clients and friends write letters of support. Finally just a month ago aftet being jailed for 2 yrs while awaiting trial, they dropped the charges. Ryan is the worst DA there is. A scary corrupt hack.

Any update on if this guy was charged? Or if his ltc was revoked? I dunno if that is even public info.
