Lebert was off duty in July when he stopped the driver. Medford Police placed Lebert on leave after viewing the driver’s dashboard camera video.
A disciplinary hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 15 to determine whether Stephen Lebert should be terminated or suspended.

Medford Police, in a Sept. 14 notice to Detective Stephen Lebert, say Lebert broke several department rules in connection with him stopping a driver who went through a Medford rotary the wrong direction. Police have administratively cited Lebert for conduct unbecoming an officer, conduct injurious to the public peace and welfare, breaking the department's pursuit policy and for violating its use of force policy.
Ooooh. "Administratively cited."
That sounds bad.
Is that harsher, or less-severe than a "tongue lashing," or the ever-injurious "slap on the wrist?"
Other than that, I'm sure he's a great guy. Salt of the earth. In the notice, police say Lebert was previously suspended in 1986 for “an alarming disregard for the safety and welfare of your fellow police officers,” when he heard a gunshot at the police station, according to the Sept. 14 notice.
Lebert was also suspended for five days in 1986 for failing to appear in court to give testimony in a case that was later dismissed, according to the notice.
Lebert was also suspended for two days for “participating in and contribution to the use of unnecessary and unreasonable force,” against an individual. Police say the suspension was related to a 1992 incident in Woburn,
Based on the material here, he has been through the progressive discipline process, So now there really is no recourse but to terminate his services.
Actually, there are several - depending on the offender's race, gender, ethnic background, social standing family connections etc...There aren't many jobs where you can regularly be rude, even abusive to people, occasionally threatening their lives and retain your job. And I can only think of one job where you can be rude, even abusive to people, occasionally threatening their lives and get a paid vacation for it.
This.As a Medford resident, I look forward to this detective serving and protecting the shit out of me in the near future.
The shitheel resigned... http://www.boston.com/news/local/ma...will-resign/da0PVun28RCY6iSloUUMeP/story.html
Sounds like they were ready to fire him, but let him resign so he can save his pension.
Dragged on long enough to secure his 25 but if charges were filed for threatening with a firearm then what?
He'll move on to traffic details and private security work and rake in the bucks plus have his pension.
"“When he’s good, he’s on the top of his game, he gives 110 percent,” Sacco said in August. “Every day is like his first day on the job.”"
What is the status of this douche bag?
But will the DA bring up any charges? That is the million dollar question.

Never happen. The town did it this way because if he gets prosecuted that opens a bigger can of worms for them...
Any update on if this guy was charged? Or if his ltc was revoked? I dunno if that is even public info.
