LYNN, Mass.—A Lynn man found shot in the face in the apartment of couple who told police they were victims of a home invasion has died.

Authorities say 29-year-old Jose Ramos died Sunday at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Ramos was shot on Friday night at about the time a woman called to say she had been tied up in a home invasion.

The woman and a man who said he had been hit over the head with a gun met police and took them to the second-floor apartment where they found Ramos on the kitchen floor. Ramos was not a resident of the building.

Steve O'Connell, a spokesman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett, says Ramos' role in the incident is under investigation. An autopsy is scheduled.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he died from the gunshot to the head...

This article really doesn't explain what happened at all but if he broke in he got what was coming.

i was going to post this, but quite frankly - it's happening every other week or so....

i'm in Lynn frequently, 100% carry everytime I go. at least it's a green city... more of their citizens should take advantage of that.

The funny thing about Lynn is that "everybody knows everybody" - generally speaking

it's always someones cousin, younger brother, older brother type of situation when someone gets killed.

one of the guys killed 07 was my best friend in Jr. High (Carlos Mejia)...

it shakes the community either way.

too many punks running around that place. it's a dump! Shepard St. has always been a bad neighborhood since FOREVER.

And thankfully they are clear of any civil liability because it occurred in their home (provided it is actually ruled self defense)

from the sounds of things, the Lynn PD is a bit suspicious of the story.

Let's see how this plays out.

Is that a joke? I'm confused.

They don't call them "ambulance chasers" for nothing.
If there is even the slightest chance of convincing a dozen random people that this loss of life was wrongful, they'll try squeezing the parties involved.
