As someone who used to live in SF and met Gavin Newsom in person, I have to say - watch out! He is a slick son of a bitch. He is as fake as they get, and known for taking advantage of everybody and everything. He slept with the wife of his best friend, who was also his chief of staff and re-election campaign manager! She confessed to her husband as a part of the twelve-step program for kicking her drug habit. His family is loaded and owns tons of commercial real estate in SF through a web of shell corporations. He is one of city's biggest landlords, yet he got elected as a "progressive", "liberal" who allegedly was going to help the city's renters. As mayor he vetoed every attempt at making rent control worse, while continuing to enjoy the support from his left-wing friends. to give credit when credit is due, this guy is a con artist and a good one.
