Article: VT: GUN STORAGE MEASURE EMERGES WITH OPTION FOR THIRD-PARTY HOLDING

Evan Hughes, vice president of the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, the state branch of the National Rifle Association

Surprise, surprise. NRA affiliate trying to screw VT like they screwed NH (with const. carry).

It sounds like they're trying to invent a solution to a problem that doesn't exist; and trying to make up an excuse to invent a VT version of a "bonded warehouse" or some bullshit like that in the process.

So, this bill passed the house and senate as of May 9th. http://www.leg.state.vt.us/docs/2014/bills/Passed/H-735.pdf is the version that passed.

It looks to me to be slightly less awful than the first version, but is still totally unnecessary in VT and insulting to gun owners.

Does anyone know what's going on though? It's a Fees bill, not a must-pass budget bill IIRC. The Governor has signed several other bills since its passage, but not this one. [thinking] Dare I hope that it doesn't become law?
