I understand the AR-57 upper is "legal" as long as it is used with a pre-ban (or 10 round) mag and the flash hider is changed to muzzle brake:

But the question is - are there pre-ban mags available and/or 10 round mags available that would fit this - or a PS90?

According to Wiki the PS90 entered service in 1994 - which would put it on the hairy edge of high cap mag availability (pre-ban)

When I bought my AR57 uppers and accessories I had the availability of purchasing 10 round mags for it.

I see preban so called Highcap mags on Gunbroker often.

They also offered a 30 and 50 round mags and they were not LEO Only marked.

The MFG of the upper is said to have 10 round mags for it soon.

Their contact info is below call them and ask.

According to (Ripach? I think it was him) since the P90 has been around for long enough there MAY be preban P90 mags. Good luck finding them, though. It is doubtful that anyone bothered to import them before the P90 was available here. If you could find some abroad they probably could be legally imported, but good luck with that, as they're probably BATFE controlled items in terms of import purposes. Doesn't mean it's impossible... just a pain in the ass.

ETA: You might try asking around on subguns.com boards.... some of the guys on there may have
connections to get old euro parts.

Mike is right, I had a lengthy discussion with someone at FNH USA today. It started off via e-mail and then escalated to a phone call on me finding "pre-ban" magazines online. There may be some, but it is highly unlikely. All magazines are date stamped with the year and month they were manufactured. They've been doing this since the beginning to keep track of how long a magazine has been in service. There are other markings on the magazines that indicate where they were made as well, but he did not get into that with me.

Colt_Fan,
There is no such thing as Pre Ban P90/PS Magazines.

Thank you!
