Anyone drilled out a pinned and welded muzzle brake

I'm wondering if anyone had experience drilling out a pinned muzzle brake.

I was looking into swapping one for a different type and could use some advice.

This link was invaluable to me on my AR build. It has a section on removing a pinned muzzle brake. The rest of the document was right-on-target. This method sounds good to me too.

The nice thing about the document is that it is FULL of pictures to help.

I'm not sure how I feel about splitting it in half. I'd rather try and drill out the pin and unscrew it.

whatever I attempt I will take pics.

1/8 or 3/16 end mill mounted in a drill press maybe (or small mill if you have one)? If the pin is hardened may be tough....maybe a dremmel grinding bit in that case.
