For that much money ..........I would buy the Ruger 10/22 take down or search for an old Marlin take down. (The Papoose? I believe they called them.)

It looks like the best choice is the Marlin Papoose.

I just checked Rugers 10-22 page and noticed the 10-22 carbine. 16" barrel. I might look into that one.

Does anyone know when using Gun Genie does the dealer charge a transfer fee or is the price paid as stated. This carbine was priced pretty good at a few shops.
