Depends - I think in Boston they can't be longer than 3.5 inches... A number determined by insecurity over a certain mayor's anatomy...

That was how I used to be until I could no longer swing by the shop to get ammo on the way t the range. Now, I buy when I see it, and use it when I can. The net result has made for a nice stockpile of ammo, so that it is actually easy to pick up and go to the range at any time, as opposed to hoping the store has some ammo left.

More than I need, less than I want. I would feel comfortable with about 1000 rounds per caliber, I'm very far below that right now.

I have an old military mortar chest wrapped in 1/2 chain all the way around with 2 chains going in opposite directions.

I would take four men to pick that fugger up.

Enough 5.56 to load a few mags for the Galil.
Everything else is buried in the hills of PA or WV.

Depending on which caliber, a minimum of 300 to a maximum of 30,000, but I'll always buy more if the price is right. Those are the levels I like to keep at all times, usually there is more than that.
