Anyone else have one? If so, had any issues?

This thing is either the biggest piece of shit or I just got a bad one! Used it last week with 231 and it worked perfectly, trying to use it tonight with CFE223 and every ****ing charge is over...I mean every.....single......charge. The motor spins too fast, even in slow mode when it's dispensing and overcharges. Guess I'm calling Hornandy tomorrow [angry]

I looked into it and it seems like the RCBS makes people happier. Hornady seems to be known for tons of over charges. RCBS is expensive but gets good reviews.

I think Green is where I'm heading!!!

So I looked into it a little and found that you can slow the dispenser down in .02 grain increments as it approaches the target charge. it's better but even with this I'm still getting a lot of overcharges.

Overcharges seem to be the most common complaint. Ive never used one but when I was looking into them, the RCBS seemed to get better reviews and the Hornady had more complaints.

Probably has a lot to do with which type of powder youre looking to use. I know there are adjustments like you said, and I think people have said the McDonalds straw over the tube helps as well. Saw enough negatives that it turned me off the Hornady and the RCBS typically sells for more than Id like to spend. Ended up watching the Lyman gen 6 and when it got down to my price I pulled the trigger but it hasnt arrived yet, so we'll see.

Maybe give it some time and play around with it some more to see if you can get it working any better.

been eye balling the gen 6 myself. Another CC willing to pay me money to spend money is on the way also.
Between a few stocks i need and the powder charger i will meet the money spent to gt the cash back deal. IF i can keep myself from buying another garand!

You need to make an adjustment to how far from the target weight it goes into the slow trickle mode and what the slow trickle pulse size is. Once I get the settings for a given powder I write it in my notebook for that load for next time.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The Hornady Lock-N-Load® Auto Charge™ is a highly sensitive instrument, which
must be repaired and serviced by a factory qualified technician to maintain the
warranty.
ADJUSTING TRICKLE SPEED
To adjust trickle speed:
1) Turn unit on and let it stabilize.
2) Press and hold CAL button for 6 seconds. The screen should display “SET.”
3) Press the SPEED button to increase the trickle speed.
4) Normal factory setting is between 0.5 and 0.8.
5) Press the UNITS button to decrease the trickle speed.
6) After reaching the new trickle speed, press and hold BACK/CANCEL to store
trickle speed and return to normal operation.
NOTE: Do not decrease the inner value lower than 0.0, or increase it more than 25.5.
NOTE: The new trickle speed should be permanently stored even if the Auto Charge is turned off.
ADJUSTING TRICKLE START TIME
Scale must be zeroed out with no target displayed. Additionally, if the scale is shut
off or BACK/CANCEL is used, this number will need to be reset.
To increase the trickle time by adjusting the point when the unit goes from quick
dispense to trickle:
1) Turn unit on and let it stabilize.
2) Hold MODE button for 2 seconds.
3) The screen will display “0.2” to indicate the trickle will begin trickling
approximately 0.2 grains before the target weight.
4) Repeat Step 2 until desired start time is reached.
CHANGE MOTOR DISPENSE MODE
To change the motor dispense mode from Normal to Power:
1) Turn unit on and let it stabilize.
2) Hold DISPENSE button for 2 seconds to switch from Power mode and Normal
mode.
n Power mode will cause the trickle speed to twitch harder. This will shorten
trickle time but may cause more overthrows.
n Normal mode is the default setting.
