303 British Headstamp

I bought a bunch of .303 ammo from another NES member. Most of it is Greek HXP, which I recall is very good ammunition. It's also newer from the references that I read on various websites.

The rest of it, about 70 rounds is marked F, N, and 50. Again using information on the Internet, this appears to be Australian made at Foostcray. At least that's what the F indicates. I don't know what the N or the 50 indicate. The HXP has "73" on it, but from what I've read that doesn't indicate the year since they made ammo for the British in the 1980s, but not the '70s.

The best reference page had a reference to some guy named "Juergen" from somewhere in Germany who had valuable information. I wish we had a guy like that here.

No record of them making .303 British. At least not on the sites I checked.

Yep. That is what it is. FN stopped using corrosive primers in 1957. I have some 38 S&W loaded to the standard UK load for their No. 2 pistols. It is good stuff.
