222 Rem and 222 Rem magnum

Is/was this a popular round? I grabbed a few, thinking they were 223. Anyone here need any? I have a handful that someone could use.

.222 was a very popular varmint round untill the .223 was adopted by the military. The availability of ammo being manufactured in very large quantities put the kybosh on .222 rifles.

Colt made some ARs in .222 for sale in countries where the military and LE used .223 and banned its use by civilians.
